Join us on a 1 and a half-hour guided walking tour to visit the indigenous wild cats of South Africa and other creatures of Tenikwa. From Leopard, Cheetahs, Serval, Caracal to African Wildcats , penguins and baboons, this is a unique opportunity to get close to some amazing creatures, and learn about their struggle to survive in the wild.
Daily Departure Times: Tours depart every half an hour from 9am, with the last tour leaving at 16h30.

Children Policy: In certain enclosures, parents may be requested to pick their young children up, or if the guide feels that the situation is unsafe, small children will need to remain outside a particular enclosure. There is pram access to each enclosure, but prams will have to be left outside the enclosure.
Dress Code: We recommend neutral colours, long trousers and closed shoes. No fur, tassles or scarves.
This program is wheelchair friendly and benches are placed along the way to rest if necessary.

During the cheetah walk, join the Tenikwa Cheetahs on their daily exercise walks. This is a really unique opportunity to spend some quality time with an endangered creature, and an experience which will last a lifetime. Pre-booking is essential.
Daily Departure Times: The Sunrise Cheetah Walk departs at 07h30 (Please arrive 15 minutes prior for the safety briefing). Program finishes at 09h00, followed by coffee and freshly baked muffins served at Chester's. The Sunset Cheetah Walk departs at 16h30. Program finishes at 18h00 followed by a complimentary glass of wine and snacks served at Chester's. The Sunrise Cheetah Walk & Wild Cat Combo departs at 07h30. Program finishes at 10h30. The Sunset Cheetah Walk & Wild Cat Combo departs at 15h30. Program finishes at 18h00 followed by a complimentary glass of wine and snacks served at Chester's. Please note that during summer, the walk may commence later due to excessively hot days. In this case, the scheduled time for completion may be extended by half an hour. In winter, times may be adjusted to accommodate fading light.

Pre-booking is required for the daily Photographic Tour which caters for the amateur / semi-professional photographer who would like to get some wonderful photographs of the cats of South Africa. On the tour you will be provided with the opportunity to photograph African Wild Cats, Serval, Caracal, Cheetahs, Leopard as well as some other indigenous wildlife and birds.
Whilst some information on the species you are photographing is provided, the tour is really aimed at allowing you the opportunity to photograph the animals and birds in semi-natural setting exhibiting natural behaviour and is run completely differently to the Wild Cat Experience.
The time of this tour co-incides with most active period of the cats and provides for good natural light. Please note that the animals cannot be posed, restrained or made to perform during the tour. Refunds will only be granted if the tour is cancelled due to inclement weather. Flash photography is not allowed. A 1.5m height requirement is enforced for this program. This program is not available to children < 16 years of age. Long trousers, closed walking shoes and neutral colour clothing is recommended. The cost of this tour is R500.00 per person.
Tours run daily at 07h30, finishing approximately at 09h30. A limited number of photographers are allowed per day, so booking is essential.
The full proceeds from this tour is used for rehabilitation of wildlife with the prime objective of returning them to the wild.

THE PHOTOGRAPHIC COMBO
A new program offered is The Photographic Combo. This program combines an early morning walk with the Cheetahs of Tenikwa through indigenous Tsitsikamma Forest and Cape Floral Fynbos where you have the opportunity to interact and observe these endangered animals on their daily exercise walk. Excellent for close-up and portrait photographs. Thereafter embark on a 2 hour Photographic Tour to get the opportunity to photograph the balance of the resident cats at Tenikwa.
This is a 4 hour program designed to maximize your time and memories of Tenikwa. The tour commences at 07h30, finishing approximately at 11h30. A limited number of photographers are allowed per day, so booking is essential. A 1.5m height requirement is enforced for this program. This program is not available to children < 16 years of age. Long trousers, closed walking shoes and neutral colour clothing is required. The cost of this tour is R880.00 per person.

Cat Lovers beware! This program is for you.
Program Details :
The Crazee Cat Day is a whole day experience designed to give you the opportunity to spend a whole day at Tenikwa partaking in various programs and also accompanying the animal keepers on their daily activities. The day starts early with a welcoming cup of coffee before you join the cheetahs on their early morning walk on the Sunrise Cheetah Walk. After working up an appetite, enjoy a cup of coffee/tea and breakfast when you return. Thereafter meet the rest of the cats during a Photographic Tour where you learn about why these animals are struggling to survive in the wild. Before lunch, you will join the animal keepers to partake in an interesting animal enrichment exercise. Relax for a bit with a light lunch and complimentary glass of wine. In the afternoon, you rejoin the animal keepers to groom the cats, before assisting in the preparation of their evening meal. End the day by joining the cheetahs on their Sunset Cheetah Walk through natural vegetation, and then watch the sunset with a complimentary glass of wine and snacks.
