Meet Marvin, Matilda and the Meerkat Mob at Tenikwa.

The merry mob of meerkats live at Tenikwa’s Meerkat Meander, where you can observe these fascinating little creatures busy at work reshaping their landscape.

Walk along our 30m walkway through the Meerkat Meander to see the semi-desert habitat that they live in, see how they bathe in the sun and how the Scout stands watch for the rest of the community.  In the Meerkat Meander we also have a selection of tortoises, as well as a display of natural vegetation, so you can see what the tortoises prefer for lunch.  And you thought they just ate lettuce!

The Meerkat Meander is self-guided, so you can spend as much time as you like in the meander, watching these fascinating creatures at work.  Couple it with a cup of coffee and Munchies at our Chesters’ Tea Garden.
