Tenikwa Country House has a variety of overnight guest amenities to complement your nature stay at Tenikwa Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. But most importantly – Your stay supports our wildlife rehabilitation facilities and allows us to carry out our conservation initiatives.
Boma and Pizza Oven
Our boma is inevitably where guests congregate after dark. Enjoy a glass of wine or delicious Western Cape sparkling Grape Juice. Traditional South African dinners are prepared in the boma, and some evenings, we will make pizza in the pizza oven.
Next to the boma is our undercover deck which overlooks a dam and animal enclosure. With a relaxed atmosphere, enjoy a stunning sunset as the day ends.
Visit our Awareness Centre
We offer various guided tours to learn about the indigenous wild cats of South Africa and other endemic wildlife. Visit our Awareness Centre and learn about the conservation projects we are involved in.
Indigenous Forest Walks
Our property is blessed with 20 hectares of indigenous Tsitsikamma Forest which is protected. We have several walks in the forest for you to enjoy, and a picnic site where you can rest and absorb the cool silence of the forest.
Cape Floral Fynbos
We are located in one of the world’s largest hotspots for botanically diversity and the endemic fynbos on our property includes many different species of Proteas, Ericas, Restios, and even the insectivorous sun-dew. We recommend that you book a Wild Ways tour where you will be accompanied by one of our guides to see and learn about interesting facts on our fynbos.
We have an amazing variety of birdlife on our property and you can enjoy the vibrant birdlife at the dams and in the forest
Dams with abundant birdlife
11 dams on the property provide a healthy environment for indigenous waterfowls and birdlife. Infront of the homestead is a well-established dam teeming with birds and wildlife that depend on the water eco-system.
