Tenikwa grew from humble beginnings in 2002 when the founders started rehabilitating injured birds in a wooded shed behind their house. Today it plays a significant role in supporting biodiversity in the Western Cape, able to rehabilitate a variety of animals, both terrestrial and marine species, and specializing in small-predator rehabilitation
