2025 Tenikwa went through a lot of changes, and we are pleased to say they were mostly all good ones
.
We have always believed that nature, wildlife and wellness always go hand in hand, so instead of just believing it, we made it happen.

We converted the beautiful Homestead  into a relaxing day SPA, making sure we never took away any of the decor and charm that the guests who stayed there loved so much. The outside however got quite the makeover, including a hot tub and a private swimming pool for the SPA guests.

Now we couldn’t let the SPA get the only upgrade. We know Plettenberg Bay can have hot summers and cool winters. So for the hot summers we installed a second pool for our accommodation guests and for the cool winters we installed a second hot tub next to one of the Lion Cabins.

Now when you stay at Tenikwa, you can go on wildlife tours, forest walks, swim in the pool, book a SPA package that suits you, shop in our souvenir shop, have a coffee and cake in Chesters coffee shop, order a snack platter, lunch and or dinner whilst drinking a bottle of bubbly watching the sun go down.

Sometimes you just want to stay in one place for a few days, and now you can. Our accommodation, tours, SPA and treatments are all available to book via our website or you can email, call or WhatsApp us directly.

Start the day with a short forest walk in a bio diverse trail and get to walk close to the fastest land animal. This tour gives the once in a lifetime opportunity to see the cheetah roaming freely in the Tsitsikamma forests. The fur will meet fynbos as you get to learn about interesting medicinal and cultural uses of the plants. A light snack will be arranged with your selection of eats by a lapa overlooking the dam. Beautiful pictures is what you will get at this scenic spot and you will make beautiful memories to take home.

A privately guided tour to see the animals that call Tenikwa home follows after, presenting an opportunity to discuss and learn about the animals that are reside permanently at Tenikwa. Enrichment follows after and assisting with the food prep for the animals. If you would still want to spend more time, book into our tastefully decorated Tenikwa Nature Lodge and start off with sun downers by the lion’s deck. Watch the sun setting over the Tsitsikamma Mountains as you sip and snack. You will get to hear the lions roar from just a stone throw away, declaring the power of love this valentine ’s day. Dinner follows afterwards ….if you would like to dine under the African skies, we will be happy to set up a Table under the stars. Enjoy the night away and relax in our tastefully decorated rooms.

However if pampering is quality time for you do not worry, soon after your tour at Tenikwa Wildlife travel a mere 4 minutes and book a treat by Forest Nature Spa. Here you will experience the power of body massage and water in connecting with the people you love. Valentine packages are available in combination with an abseiling tour or lunch at wine farm.

Nestled in-between Cape floral fynbos and indigenous the Tsitsikamma forests, Tenikwa Lodge and Family Suites provides the calmness that comes with nature. Couples and families with children can come for a getaway and enjoy a home away from home in the midst of wildlife and birds that stay and visit the property. The spacious en-suite lodge rooms and cozy suites cater for different needs ranging from king, queen, double, twin and single beds.  Family rooms have patios giving private entrances and accessibility to the traditional boma and dam where numerous birds visit.

After touring our wildlife facility visit the nearby beaches, wine estates, artesian shops, snake parks and elephant sanctuaries or do kayaking, abseiling, black water tubing, whale watching, bungee jumping, forest walks, puzzle parks, segways and canopy tours. All the activities and sites are accessible from the national highway. After the day’s activities dine under the stars and relax the night away by our outdoor mini bar serving local wines and beverages. An early breakfast is served either indoors, outdoors or by our cafeteria giving you the kick start energy required for the activities you are going to be undertaking during the day.
